Yesterday we headed to Target with a hefty list of items. We did 4 transactions. The only thing in the picture not from Target is all the Surf laundry detergent. This was on sale for $2.99 at Kroger a couple of weeks ago and we could never find any so Shanna got a rain check for all the coupons we had ($2/1 from 5/16 RP) and picked them up last night. Without the coupons her transaction would have cost $22.66, but with the coupon she only paid $7.50, a savings of 67%!

So all in all we had the usual mess ups. Shanna and I are meticulously trying to hand over the coupons correctly and divide up our transactions because of store coupon limits and we end up missing something. We learned in our last transaction though that even though the coupon says one per transaction, they don't make the computer beep so from now on we will be doing 1 transaction only hopefully.
The totals below are after we return the item that the coupon did not work on.
Total before coupons: $152.09
Total after coupons, tax and the $5 gift card we received: $15.34
That's a savings of 90%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The word transaction, in the retail world, actually means "item scanned." I work in marketing and get this all the time. The word purchase means your entire order that is purchased in exchange for money.
