To All My Fellow Cetaphil Lovers

I just went to the cetaphil website to look up the exact name of the facial moisturizer I use for a survey I am currently taking and the landing page offers a $5/2 coupon for their new Restoraderm line (body wash and moisturizer).  I tried it twice more to see if it's a fluke and it's not, but if you don't see it immediately wait a moment, the main page cycles through a few different ads.  I've seen this line in those short aisles next to cosmetics at Walgreens for the last few months so I wouldn't be surprised if they go on some sort of sale soon.  I'll definitely try both for the right price!

Blah

I went to Walgreens and CVS tonight but to be perfectly honest, I don't feel like writing up all the deals I got.  If I would have had at least 1 stellar transaction, I totally would show you guys, but I didn't.  CVS was out of almost everything I wanted, which after reading other blogs, seems to be the norm this week.  Walgreens was stocked, but I had little RR's to start with and didn't plan well enough so I spent almost $10 out of pocket (I think, stopped counting after a bit).  Just a blah day of shopping.  The only cool thing that happened was that there was indeed a display of Jergens lotion at Walgreens that had $1/1 coupons attached to it so I was able to pick up 2 bottles for nearly free.  They are $4.29 each (for the smaller bottle) and the deal is buy 2 get a $5 RR. So two costs $8.58, minus two $1/1 coupons is $6.58, minus a $5 RR is $1.58, or $0.79 each, which I am happy with.  No $2 peelies on the Vaseline and the coupon isn't showing up for me online but I still bought one since they are $0.99 after RR.  At CVS all I got was some Olay cleansing cloths for the other frugal blonde which were $0.49 each (bought 2) after ECB.  So ya see?  Not much to show.  I'm having faith that next week will blow me out of the water!  (And that I'll find some toothbrushes at CVS later this week).  Hope you guys are finding great stuff!

Walgreens Trip 9/19 - Saved 79%

Walgreens is fairly decent this week.  There is the possibility of free toothpaste, but my coupon wasn't high enough in value to make it free so I decided to skip it.  Also, I should note that the register reward for the Glade deal did not print out on either transaction so a manager had to come and ring up 2 fake transactions to pay for them.  He used the candle refills to do it, NOT the candle holders, and it worked.  So even though the tag below the candle holders indicated that it was included, they didn't print, so watch out if you want to do the same deal as me.  Lastly, I had to add a filler item to my first transaction which still makes no sense to me since the subtotal was high enough and I had plenty of items without coupons (I had more items than coupons), but I took the $1 hit and moved on.  Didn't feel like arguing.

Transaction #1:

$2.50 - Glade Candle Holder
$2.50 - Glade Candle Refills
- $2.50 from Buy the candle holder get the refill free from 8/22 SS
= $2.50 for both, received a $1 RR, so only $0.75 each

$2.49 - Thermacare Neck pad, 1 count
- $1/1 printable
= $1.49, received a $1.50 RR, so FREE

$1.59 - Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup
$1.41 - Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup
$1.50 - Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup (not sure why they rung up this way)
- $1.50/3 printable or printable
- $2.13 from in ad coupon (they are $0.79 each)
= $0.29 each

$1.00 - Irish Spring 2 pack bar soap (forced filler)

Total before coupons and tax: $12.99

Used two $2 RR's

Total after coupons and RR's: $1.94

Transaction #2:

$2.50 - Glade Candle Holder
$2.50 - Glade Candle Refills
- $2.50 from Buy the candle holder get the refill free from 8/22 SS
= $2.50 for both, received a $1 RR, so only $0.75 each

$2.49 - Thermacare Neck pad, 1 count
- $1/1 printable
= $1.49, received a $1.50 RR, so FREE

$1.59 - Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup
$1.41 - Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
$1.50 - Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup (not sure why they rung up this way)
- $1.50/3 printable or printable
- $2.13 from in ad coupon (they are $0.79 each)
= $0.29 each

$4.24 - Airwick Freshmatic imotion
- $4/1 from 8/8 SS (expired yesterday, 9/19)
= $0.24

Total before coupons and tax: $16.23

Used a $5 RR

Total after coupons and RR's: $0.10
___________________________________________________________
Total retail value: $29.22

Paid with $9 in RR's and $2.04 in cash = $11.04.  Received $5 in RR's, so it's like I spent $6.04, which is a savings of 79%.  Not my best trip every by any stretch of the imagination, but it was decent.

Coupons received:
$2/1 any one Tampax Pearl or Compak Pearl expires 11/14/10 (received in 1st transaction)

CVS Trip 9/16 - made a profit of $2.69 on $19 worth of merchandise!

I know there's not much to show here, but technically it was a good trip.  I tried to buy the Tylenol pain patch, but since both the CVS coupon and the manufacturer's coupon were printables that looked similar the cashier wouldn't take them.  It was 9 pm and I didn't feel like arguing so I just let it go.  Also I TOTALLY forgot about the awesome airwick deals and didn't bring any coupons.  I may go back tomorrow or I may just let it slide.  We'll see.

$4.99 - Nivea Men's Body Wash Active3
- $2/1 any Nivea product (received in the mail for complimenting their product)
= $2.99, received a $4.99 ECB, so $2 money maker

$3.99 - Skintimate Shave cream
- $0.75/1 from 8/1 SS
= $3.24, received a $3 ECB, so only $0.24

$9.99 - Alive Women's Vitamins
- $1/1 printable
= $8.99, received a $9.99 ECB, so $1 money maker!

Total before tax and coupons: $18.97

Used a $0.99 ECB, two $4 ECBs and a $5 ECB.

Total after coupons and ECB's: $1.30

So I spent $13.99 in ECB's and $1.30 cash = $15.29 total

And I received $17.98 in ECB's, so it's like CVS paid me $2.69 to shop there!!!!

Walgreens Trip 9/16 - Saved 89% on $80 worth of merchandise!

So I haven't posted a shopping trip in quite a while because there really wasn't anything to speak of, but I was pretty happy with my trip last night.  I wasn't motivated to go at all this week to tell the truth (I usually go on Sundays).  But I've got to keep up with my register rewards or they'll expire on me!  I did this in two transactions.

Transaction #1:

$2.99 - Colgate Total Toothpaste
- $1/1 from 9/12 SS (I NEVER get the $1/1, always $0.75/1 so I was stoked)
= $1.99, received a $2 RR, so FREE

(2) $2.09 - Lever 2000 2 bar packs
- (2) $1/1 printables
= $2.18, received a $2 RR, so $0.09 each!! (donation)

(2) $6.49 - Nyquil Vanilla Cherry Swirl
- (2) $1.50/1 from 8/29 PG
- (2) $2/1 Nyquil "Swirl" from September coupon booklet
= $5.98, received a $5 RR, so only $0.49 each! (these have over a year before they expire so I will keep them)

(4) $3.99 - Playtex Gentle Glide 18 ct
- (2) $2/1 printables
- (2) $3.99 - FREE catalina coupon from buying Kotex tampons a few weeks back
- (4) $1/1 from September coupon booklet
= FREE plus $0.02 profit!!

(3) $0.65 - Flipz Pretzels (clearance - used as item fillers)

Total before tax and coupons: $38.06

Used a $2 RR, a $4 RR and a $5 RR.

Total after coupons and RR's: $1.08
_______________________________________________________
Transaction #2:

(4) $9.99 - Schick Intuition Razors
- (2) $9.99 from in store B1G1 sale
- (4) $4/1 facebook coupon
= $3.98, or about $1 a piece

(2) $0.65 - Flipz Pretzels (item fillers)

Total before tax and coupons: $41.26

Used a $4 RR.

Total after coupons and RR's: $1.39
_____________________________________________________________
Total retail value: $79.32

Spent $15 in RR's and $2.47 cash = $17.47.

Received $9 in RR's.  So it's like spending $8.47 (17.47 - 9) for all that stuff.  That's a savings of 89%!!  Pretty great, especially with the low cash out of pocket.

I received some pretty great coupons too!  What's the secret?  Check out in cosmetics and use a card, don't pay cash!

1st transaction:
(2) $1.50/1 on any Nature's Bounty Vitamin or Supplement (no idea why 2 but this will be good for a B1G1 sale) exp 12/9/10

Sorry for the lack of posting lately!

If anyone follows me close enough to notice, I haven't been doing much posting lately.  I'm still here, it's just that I don't have much to tell you about.  I'm not really a huge fan of the blogs that put out 30-40 posts a day with every little deal to be had.  I'm selfish and just like to tell you about the stuff that I myself would do.  Maybe this isn't the right attitude to have, but hey, this isn't my job, it's just a hobby, so that's the way I think it will stay.  I only like to tell you about free samples available to everyone (and I always sign up for them first to make sure the deal isn't dead) and I only like to tell you about deals at stores that are super great.  And it seems like everyone else is still going strong with a million deals but I seriously just haven't been excited about anything lately.  Any thoughts on this?  Am I being to harsh?
